Reporting to: Head of Programmes and Services  

Salary: €44,443

Contract type: Full-time permanent (35 hours per week). Some evening work may be required.

Location: Hybrid with at least one day per week in the Maynooth Head Office.

Purpose of role:  

To lead and support the development, delivery, promotion and evaluation of Shine’s education and training programmes. This role will focus on co-producing and facilitating high-quality mental health education initiatives that align with Shine’s values, strategic goals, and commitment to recovery and stigma reduction. The role includes responsibility for content creation, digital learning tools, course marketing, and supporting Shine’s public education and practice initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Education Programme Development & Delivery
  • Design, co-produce and facilitate a range of training and education courses related to mental health, stigma reduction, workplace wellbeing, and resilience.
  • Deliver Shine’s education and training programmes across Ireland in both community and corporate settings, both in-person and online.
  • Develop, pilot, and roll out new educational offerings aligned with Shine’s strategic direction and stakeholder needs including new courses and mental health corporate engagement leads.
  • Maintain and refresh training materials to reflect best practices in adult learning and inclusive mental health education.

Content Creation & Digital Resources
  • Assist in creating a suite of engaging digital resources and online learning assets (e.g. presentations, toolkits, videos, e-learning modules) to support blended and remote delivery.
  • Work with Shine’s communications team to align educational materials with Shine’s brand, tone, and messaging.
  • Support publication of training-related resources, including handbooks, guides and public-facing documents.

Marketing & Promotion
  • Actively promote Shine’s education offer through digital channels, CRM systems, stakeholder outreach and events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to grow Shine’s training reach and reputation among public sector, community, and corporate audiences.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and partnerships for Shine’s education work.

Research, Evaluation & Impact
  • Gather and analyse learner feedback and outcome data to improve programme quality and effectiveness.
  • Support Shine’s evaluation, reporting, and knowledge dissemination efforts by providing relevant training insights and case studies.
  • Contribute to funding applications and reporting by capturing impact stories and metrics from education activities.

Coordination & Teamwork
  • Work closely with Shine’s Recovery and Programmes teams to ensure seamless delivery across the organisation.
  • Manage education resources efficiently, ensuring KPIs and budgetary targets are met.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting through Shine’s CRM and internal systems.
  • Participate in cross-organisational projects and initiatives as required by the Head of Programmes and Services.

Person Specification  

Essential:
  • Strong commitment to recovery, human rights, and stigma reduction in mental health.
  • Third-level qualification in education, training, public health, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in mental health, education, community health, or a similar setting.
  • Proven experience in delivering and coordinating adult education programmes.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation and communication skills.
  • Experience developing course materials and resources for both online and in-person learning.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent IT and digital literacy skills (e.g. Microsoft 365, CRM systems, Zoom, learning platforms).
  • Strong time management, planning, and organisational ability.
  • Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle on a full-time basis.
  • Flexibility to travel nationally and work occasional evenings if required.
  • Previous experience/qualifications in adult learning, or digital education.

Desirable:
  • Qualifications in mental health recovery
  • Experience in public engagement, communications, or marketing education programmes.
  • Familiarity with evaluation and impact measurement
  • Understanding of trauma-informed and inclusive education approaches.
