Mental Health Reporting

This 2-hour workshop covers all aspects of suicide reporting, including the suicide reporting guidelines, best practice on mental illness reporting, common challenges when covering mental health. There is also time given to working with contributors with lived experience of mental illness, and the wellbeing of media professionals.

Mental Health Reporting Modules

Our modules break the full guidelines training into short, 30-minute sessions that take place for 4 consecutive weeks. These sessions are divided into the following topics:

Module 1 – Suicide reporting

Module 2 – Reporting on mental illness

Module 3 – Common challenges in mental health reporting

Module 4 – Working with contributors and the wellbeing of media professionals

When: Our next modules begin on 24^th March 2026 and will run every Tuesday for 4 weeks
