Mental Health Reporting

This workshop is available to students studying any form of factual media including journalism, media, radio journalism, and TV & Film Production. The training introduces students to the suicide reporting guidelines, best practice when covering mental illness, interviewing people with lived experience of mental illness, and media workers’ own wellbeing. The session uses real examples from Irish media, as well as a fictional case study for the students to exercise their editorial judgement.
