Tian Herbert

Tian has been working with Shine since 2018, first as a Co-ordinator of Shine’s Cork service, and in her current role as a  Mental health Recovery Team Leader since 2022. Tian has qualifications in Community Care, Social Science, Psychology (Criminal Behaviour) , medication, WRAP facilitation and Hearing Voice Facilitation. With a career spanning over 20 years in the Voluntary not for profit sectors in Mental Health, Disability Services. This has allowed her to develop skills and expertise in Leadership, Community Development, Service development, Conflict resolution, Education development and facilitation, Recruitment, Trainer, Lecturing and Change Management.

Tian has also enjoyed volunteering with Le Cheile Youth Mentoring Project, Hearing Voice Ireland Board, SHEP’s board of management. 

As a Mental Health Recovery Team Leader in Region 1, Tian is responsible for Shine Recovery service across Cork, Kerry, North Tipperary, Limerick and Clare. Her team provides Information and Support, Individual Recovery Planning Support, Peer Support Groups and Recovery Education across these counties.  A strong network of facilitators support them in facilitating their supports groups. 

Tian is a proud Corkonian who loves to travel. She spent much of her twenties either in education or traveling. Since having her son, she travels less but enjoys showing him Ireland’s rich history and landscape. She loves reading, movies, cooking, eating, and sharing good food.
