Rebecca is a Shine Ambassador:
I am 39, from Louth living in Sligo. Married with 3 kids and working as a Counselling coordinator for a charity that provides free counselling services plus all the rest. I am in my final year of my Masters in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I have lived experience with depression, anxiety, Borderline Personality Disorder, psychosis, and suicidal thoughts. When I was struggling, I often felt alone and like no one could really understand me, which left me feeling very isolated. Now, I’m passionate about sharing my story to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and remind others that they don’t have to go through it alone. I share my journey with mental health, the challenges I’ve faced, and what helped me along the way. I want to encourage others to speak up, to know that what they’re feeling is valid, and to remind people that there is hope and support out there.
