Rachael has worked with Shine for over 13 years. She began her journey in a voluntary capacity, contributing to the Green Ribbon campaign and facilitating support groups. Over time, she progressed through various support roles in the organisation, before being appointed Regional Mental Health Team Leader in Region 2 in March 2024.
In this role, Rachael supports a regional team across the Midlands, South East, Kildare, South and West Dublin, and Wicklow. She leads and supports her team to deliver high-quality, person-centred mental health services aligned with Shine’s values, recovery model, and strategic goals, focusing on service development, community collaboration, and operational excellence.
Before joining Shine, Rachael worked as a social care worker with the Salvation Army’s crisis intervention service for homeless youth and with Crosscare’s aftercare service, helping young people transition from care to independent living. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and German from Maynooth University, and a Social Care Degree with 1st class honours from TU Dublin.
Outside of work, Rachael enjoys walking, nature, reading, archaeology, photography, creative writing, and music, with a special love for Irish traditional music.
