A conference exploring the role of the family in promoting recovery and jointly hosted by Shine and the College of Psychiatry Ireland will be held in Galway this autumn.
Currently at the planning stage, the conference will focus on two themes: Family Involvement and Confidentiality and Family Involvement and Care – the way forward
The morning session will address the topics of ‘Confidentiality’ and ‘Assisted Decision Making’ from the perspective of the mental health professional, the family member and the service user.
The afternoon sessions will look at some recent development in the health services as it works to become more inclusive of stakeholders. The day will have a good balance of panel discussion and presentations, and should be of equal interest and relevance to all stakeholders.
More information will be made available when the agenda and format for the day has been finalised.
Cost: There will be no admission fee for Shine Members
Registration: Registration details will be posted on www.shine.ie once available
Shine relies on donations to continue its work and provide much needed services to people with mental ill health as well as their family members and carers.
