Guideline for Submissions

 

1)      All submissions should meet with this submissions policy and procedure

 

2)      Usable formats are jpg, jpeg, png, gif, pdf, doc, mp3, mp4

 

3)      Contributors may choose not to have their name published or use a pseudonym.

 

4)      All submissions should be titled

 

5)      2 and 3 dimensional art work

Images should be in focus and free from shadow or glare

Images must be of a single exhibit

The Shine blog reserves the right to crop backgrounds

Individual file must be in a jpeg format and no greater than 1 GB in size

 

6)       Video

Recordings should be of good definition and sound

Individual file size should be no greater that 1GB

 

7)      Sound

Recordings should be of good sound definition

Individual file size should be no greater that 1GB

 

8)      Creative writing

Work should be spell checked

Formatting other than in Microsoft Word may be lost or changed

We recommend that you have your work proof read before submission

We may seek to edit your work with your agreement

Word count should be 800 words or less

 

9)    Factual writing

Work should be spell checked

Formatting other than in Microsoft Word may be lost or changed

We recommend that you have your work proof read before submission

We may seek to edit your work with your agreement

Content Policy

Material of the following nature will not be approved:

 

(a) General

  • Prejudiced, stigmatising or potentially hurtful attitudes to any other individual or group of people
  • Threats, abuse or bullying content
  • Material which may be considered racist
  • Material which may be considered sexist
  • Libellous or defamatory material
  • Information on illegal activities (such as information on illegal drugs)
  • Commercial posts
  • Sexually explicit material
  • Pornographic images or links to pornographic sites
  • Advice sites where the information given and advice offered is not evidence based or could potentially have a harmful or negative effect

(b) Expression of suicidal ideation

  • Expression of suicidal thoughts
  • Expression of suicide plans
  • Expression of plans or thoughts in relation to harming someone else
  • Comments or communications that could be construed as a ‘suicide note’.
